Chris gained an Honours Degree at University where she learned the skills that now assist in the process of designing and creating her unique cakes.
Chris will firstly arrange an informal, personal consultation to discuss ideas or thoughts. She has a large portfolio with photographs of most of the cakes she has made. This often helps as a starting point from which a new design will develop.
The photographs here show a cake recently produced to mark an 80th Birthday.
From discussion with the family, two main aspects of the individual’s life became important to portray. Initial sketches were produced showing the individual relaxing and playing bowls and on this occasion it was decided that a two-sided cake would be most appropriate.
The cake was further personalised by portraying the individual’s inclination to fall asleep in front of the television! His favorite newspaper is included with personalised headlines as well as books with pertinent humourous titles. He is wearing his Mercedes cap and at the bowling green,indicators of his age are given in the humourous list of lost property items including false teeth, Zimmer frames etc…
All these details helped Chris to design a Birthday Cake that became the much talked about centre piece of a perfect celebration.
