Kevin and Lucy's Cupcake Wedding Cake
Mini cakes and cupcakes are a lovely way of making a spectacular display
when you are having an intimate wedding with a smaller number of guests. I
created these cupcakes and mini cakes for Lucy and Kevin’s wedding at the Hotel
Du Vin. They were a mixture of different flavours, the cupcakes in chocolate and
lemon, the mini cakes were carrot cake and fruitcake. The top cake was a fruit
cake which the couple cut for the traditional photos.
Along with the cakes on display I also made extra cakes which Lucy and Kevin put in clear boxes which were placed on each table for the guests to take home as favours. The colour scheme of pink and olive green suited the venue beautifully and they made a very striking display.
I received a lovely handwritten thank you card from Lucy and Kevin which had a beautiful picture of them cutting their cake on the front. The card read:
“Thank you so much for our beautiful wedding cake. As you can see we loved it so much we included it on our thank you cards. Everyone commented on how stunning the cupcakes were and raved about the taste even more. We nearly didn’t let anyone take any because they looked and tasted so good. The colouring and decoration was perfection. Thank you so much for all your hard work. Kind regards, Lucy and Kevin.”
