Laura's Lilies and Lace Wedding Cake
When Laura came to me for a consultation along with her mother I knew
that I was going to have the opportunity to design and create a really stunning
elegant cake. The wedding reception was held at Tracey Park and so once again a
cake with real ‘presence’ would be needed to complement the high ceilings and
classic architecture.
After a few initial sketch ideas and discussions with regard to flavours
and number of tiers required I arrived at the final design. Choosing to keep
the cake in neutral colours, Laura’s wedding cake consisted of four tiers iced
in a soft shade of ivory and painstakingly decorated with a royal icing piped
design which was copied from the lace of the bridal gown. Cascading from the
top tier I created a delicate yet dramatic display of lilies.
I was delighted with the final result and I know that they were too, Laura’s
mother even made a special trip to see me after the wedding to show me the
wedding photographs. It is always a real privilege to be part of someone’s
wedding and help their wedding dreams come true.
