Hexagonal Wedding Cake
Hexagonal wedding cakes are a good choice if you wish to have something
a little different and by displaying the cakes on this ‘G’ shaped stand the
shape really stands out. Sarah and Martin chose lemon and vanilla as the
flavours for their cake along with an additional square cutting cake in rich
fruit. Having additional cutting cakes is a really good way of obtaining the
number of portions you need to serve your guests without the need to have a
larger fully decorated cake. Along with the wedding cakes, the cutting cakes
which are boxed and iced though not fully decorated are delivered to the venue
ready to be cut with the wedding cake itself at the reception.
I made delicate, yet vibrantly coloured Calla lilies and white roses
studded with diamante to catch the light which also matched the bridal flowers.
To really personalise their cake I made models of Sarah and Martin in their
bridal outfits. If you look carefully you will see that these models were
further personalised by the Brownie flag Sarah is holding (she is a Brownie
pack leader) and the football under Martin’s arm (blue and white quarters to
indicate Bristol Rovers).

It is always a pleasure to be involved in the creation of something so
personal for a couple’s wedding day and I treasure every message I receive. A
delightful hand written card had the following message:
“Thank you very much for providing the wonderful wedding cake on our wedding day, it was very much appreciated. We had so many compliments about the appearance and flavour throughout the day. We had a fantastic time and now have many special memories. Your hard work greatly contributed to this. Thank again, Sarah and Martin.”
