Black and White Wedding Cake
Black and white is a stunning colour scheme for a wedding and has proved
very popular. Hand painting is a particular love of mine and obviously by its
very nature and the fact that all the painting is free hand means that your
wedding cake will totally unique to you. It is a difficult technique which is
rarely used by many wedding cake designers which will also mean that many of
your wedding guests may have never seen a hand painted cake.
I was delighted when asked to design a cake incorporating both hand painting and the black and white colour scheme. This wedding cake design shows that as long as the cake has been thoughtfully designed it is not always necessary to have a ‘cake topper’. The classic rose motif hand painted to flow over the three tiers is and elegant use of the black and white colour scheme being romantic without being harsh. The cake is also enhance by the simple addition of a double board to the base which creates an interesting step effect from which the cake ‘grows’.
