A Reflection on 2011
When I look back at the cakes I created for my clients in 2011 it makes me realise, once again how lucky I am to have a job which I enjoy so much. To be commissioned to create a cake by so many lovely people for so many varied occasions makes my life very interesting. In 2011 I met numerous couples embarking on their married life together and many more celebrating anniversaries following many years together. I take particular pleasure when I receive repeat custom, such as couples commissioning anniversary cakes, special birthday cakes and christening cakes. I have some families who I have really got to know over the years and feel very honoured to be allowed to take a part in their celebrations.

Some particularly memorable celebration cakes from 2011 have to be the Designer cupcakes,

Minnie Mouse birthday cake, Masquerade 18th Birthday cake, and the Penguins Christmas cake which I made and donated to a very worthwhile cause and I believe it made in excess of £100.

As for wedding cakes, well out of the hundreds I made these stand out in my memory, the dramatic Spots and Stripes cupcakes

the seven tier castle,

the delicate Jasmine and Lily lace tiered cake, the wonky black and white cake and finally the stunning (if I say so myself!)

five tier Lily of the valley cake with its hundreds of tiny lily of the valley flowers and buds.
The wedding season is already upon me with my first wedding cake of the year already completed. I predict a very busy and enjoyable 2012 ahead.
