Len's 80th Birthday Cake
I love making 3D sculpture cakes because each one can be tailor made to
suit each occasion.
This cake was created from a light fruit cake to be the centrepiece at Len’s 80th birthday. As often happens due to hectic lives there was no time to book a consultation so an exchange of telephone calls and emails resulted in a good supply of information for me to work from. Len has loved skiing all his life and has always taken the difficult route leaving much younger skiers in his wake. He skied right into his 70’s so this was a good theme for his cake. Lin provided me with some pictures from which I was able to copy his skiing outfit, the hat being especially important!
This cake was collected and transported to Devon for the celebrations. This is the thank you email I received from Lin:
