50th Birthday Cake
Relief picture cakes are a great way of being able to create cakes which
can have plenty of detail to make them really personal.
This cake was a vanilla sponge cake and was made to celebrate Max’s 50th birthday. Following a telephone call and a letter from Jenny I designed a cake which included details such as the walking gear he usually wears, his favourite climbing locations and the kit that he takes with him.
I received a lovely thank you email from Jenny which read:
“Just wanted to let you know how pleased Max was with his 50th birthday cake.
He was so taken back with the scene when he realised that it depicted
himself and was amazed how precisely you had interpreted my letter and
translated that information in icing sculpturing a truly accurate scene with
exquisite detail. We all found it really difficult to make that first cut
to discover a delicious sponge cake. Your creation contributed greatly to
the success of his special day. Many grateful thanks, Jenny.”
